  ARW Report - Edition 29 - Xmas 2009

Dear |FIRSTNAME|,

We are pleased to bring you our Christmas 2009 edition of the ARW Report. Yes Christmas is coming so for those that haven't sorted out their tax yet, make an appointment now for your 2009 tax return with your ARW consultant. The ATO have advised us to expect delays in January for the processing of refunds so the quicker you act, the quicker you will get your refund!

Later this month we see the much anticipated Henry Report on the Australian Tax System to be delivered to the Federal Treasurer. It is interesting that there is a recommendation to make individual tax returns voluntary in the future. I can see the benefit in those that use E-Tax or ITP or H & R Block, but for the majority of ARW clients, I know for fact that they would be shortchanged if they trusted "The Taxman's" calculations simply because claims for rental properties, investment gearing, cars, home office expenses, medical expenses and the like would not be factored in. Remember that Mr Taxman is the good cop whilst The Taxman is the bad cop!

Yes we are still accepting new clients and would gratefully appreciate any referrals that you provide us - so make sure you let your family & friends know that you have a great award-winning accountant. Visit our website for more information about the various services which we can provide. With Christmas fast approaching, now is the time to make an appointment for your 2009 tax return with your ARW consultant by emailing Kylie here.

2009 was another tough one financially but we are seeing that the economy is showing signs of change. Make sure you read the article What Will 2010 hold?

We wish everyone much happiness & success during the festive season and beyond. May a special angel look down on you & your family.

by Adrian Raftery
Every since I have been in the workforce I kept hearing about the famous "Santa Claus" rally where it seemed that the stockmarket rose around the same time that the jolly red giant was in town. by Adrian Raftery "Mr Taxman"
The last year and a half has been a tumultuous time for investors, especially those with assets in listed and unlisted property trusts.
