Welcome to DirectBuild's December 2011 Newsletter

DirectBuild has had another busy quarter. We had a Stand at the inaugural Grand Designs Live Exhibition at Darling Harbour in October and held our second Owner Builder Seminar last month.

The Grand Designs Live Exhibition was an impressive and highly successful event.  There were numerous innovative building products on display and many energy efficient building alternatives to consider. Thank you to all of those people who called on us at our Stand. We continue to be extremely encouraged by the enthusiastic response we receive when we explain the services DirectBuild offers to owner builders.

Our second Owner Builder Seminar held on Sunday 20 November 2011 was also very well received by all attendees. The Seminar is designed to be an educational day to take attendees through the renovation/building project from the initial design or start-up stage, the pre-construction stage and finally, the construction stage to completion. From the feedback we received, the highlight of the day was the session when representatives of two of our owner builder projects discussed their individual experiences during their project and responded candidly to questions asked.

We propose to hold Owner Builder Seminars throughout 2012 with the next Seminar to be held on Sunday 22 July 2012 following the Sydney Home Show in May/June.

In this edition of the Newsletter, we have featured articles from Petra Kleegraefe from Architectural Lighting Design on Lighting Tips for your home and Gayelene Townsend from Key Skills Training on “White Card” requirements. We hope you find the articles interesting and informative.

The team at DirectBuild would like to wish you and your family all the very best for Christmas and for a healthy and prosperous New Year. We look forward to the opportunity of working with you in 2012.
